CLIENT
This government-owned company is one of the leading petroleum producers in West Asia, generating more than $11 billion in annual revenue. Focusing on crude oil and natural gas, the company also concentrates on sustainability and renewable energy initiatives.
CHALLENGE
Legacy network infrastructure, WiMAX, and mobile communications systems hampered operational efficiency
This oil and gas industry company struggled to maintain reliable voice and data communications services across its vast operational footprint. The company’s legacy technologies, including a worldwide interoperability for microwave access (WiMAX) broadband communications system and a terrestrial trunked radio (TETRA) two-way mobile system, had become increasingly difficult to maintain. Additionally, the outdated systems could not easily support emerging technologies and applications. These issues negatively impacted operational efficiency and employee productivity.
TRANSFORMATION
Migrate from WiMAX to LTE and deploy a private network for enterprise communications
UST’s telecommunications experts helped the petroleum industry company implement a digital transformation of its network infrastructure. Providing a comprehensive suite of services, including network design, deployment, and management, we migrated from WiMAX to LTE, replaced TETRA with a group communication solution, and deployed a new private network in the 450MHz and 5800MHz spectrum. Our proprietary tools and network optimization expertise helped ensure a seamless implementation and integration with existing systems.
Now, the company has modern communications capabilities, including high-speed data, voice, and video services, enhancing operational efficiency, productivity, and safety in remote locations. The upgraded network supports ease of development and deployment of modern applications and services.
