Case Study
Quick implementation of ERP system improves productivity for energy services company
OUR CLIENT
The client provides state-of-the-art hydraulic fracturing technology to upstream oil and gas companies engaged in the exploration and production of North American oil and natural gas resources. The company’s recently launched TITAN™ solution is the first to use 100% natural gas for fracturing completions, providing its clients with exceptional value through the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and improved operational economics.
THE CHALLENGE
Impending product launch accelerated need for ERP system
The client needed to implement a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to bring together all of its business processes for finance and operations, so they could be accessed in real-time and integrated across departments. This encompassed order processing and purchasing, inventory and revenue tracking, supply chain management, accounts payables, and accounts receivables — all in a single workflow.
Pressed for time due to the launch of its flagship product, the client required an out-of-the-box, yet flexible and robust ERP system to be fully operational in 60 days (a typical ERP system implementation can take anywhere from six months to two years).
THE TRANSFORMATION
New ERP system provided information that enabled employees to make better decisions
After a careful assessment of the client’s workflows, business processes, best practices, and specific needs, the UST Xpanxion team recommended the cloud-based ERP system Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 lets employees work in sync through a centralized database that streamlines multiple business processes and activities companywide. The Microsoft Dynamics ERP apps have a look and feel similar to the Microsoft Office products, giving users a familiar, intuitive interface.
UST Xpanxion integrated the new ERP system with the client’s field service data to give field employees access to company information and data that lets them make better decisions and provide the best service possible. UST Xpanxion also integrated the ERP system with the client’s Business Intelligence (BI) system to give the company greater visibility into its BI reporting.
THE IMPACT
Implementation improved productivity while reducing operational costs
The new ERP system created a ripple effect throughout the organization that led to improved sales and worker productivity, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Soon after the successful setup and implementation of the Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP system, the client awarded UST Xpanxion with a 3-year engagement for the ongoing support, management, and development of the existing ERP environment. UST:
