Case Study
A global credit insights provider saving millions of dollars from cloud transformation
CLIENT
The client is a global leader in providing credit insights, knowledge and analytics for consumer, businesses, and enterprises.
CHALLENGE
They were struggling with a diverse IT landscape with systems and data exchanges built independently, and the technical debt accumulated through years of mergers and acquisitions. Entire technology was supported via on-premise data centres. Data sync and tech upgrades were time consuming, new products had a high opportunity cost and difficult to scale.
TRANSFORMATION
UST team led the client cloud transformation, provided technology leadership and rearchitected 100+ applications on Java 13+ stack using an API-first Microservices Architecture, deployed on Google Cloud Platform using a fully automated CI-CD pipeline. This ensures all applications are available for continuous improvement and scale.
We also helped implement the client’s product roadmap across all portfolios: Consumer, Commercial, Channels, HR solutions and Data & Insights.
No transformation is complete with just the right technology in place. We worked closely with the client to implement Spotify Model and built high-energy, self-sufficient squads with a start-up culture to maximise business value from the cloud transformation.
IMPACT
The cloud transformation created value in the following way: -
- Being cloud native enabled the client to transform its entire business with speed, scale and trust built-in by design.
- Data democratisation for all customers leveraging seamless data fabric enabled newer, sharper insights to be unlocked. The virtual streaming of data and insights empowered customers to take real-time decisions and has radically improved the CX.
- The scaled Agile implementation led to the rapid design, testing, deployment and maintenance of products and services. ‘Idea to Production’ reduced from 2 years to 90 days.
- Systems are now highly available, scalable and secure; and able to adapt to the evolving regulatory and data privacy landscape faster.
- One of the two data centres to be decommissioned this year leading to an annual cost saving of few million Australian dollars.
